Where Do You Find Hope?

Life has some huge obstacles that it puts in our way.  Sometimes, the sheer weight of the challenge can be overwhelming.  You might feel like this moment will never pass and that life will always be this way.  You may feel desperate, depressed, and fed-up.  You may want to give up, feeling spent from all of your efforts.  When this happens, where can you find hope to carry you through?

Don’t Forget the Caregivers

Grateful for the Moment

In honor of All Souls Day, also known as All Saints Day and Dia de los Muertes, I heard this poignant poem. It was written by Jane Kenyon while her husband was enduring cancer treatment.  A few years after writing this, Ms. Kenyon died from her own bout with the disease, while her husband was living a life in remission.

Hiding a Serious Illness from Your Child?

Living with cancer, HIV/AIDS, or another serious illness is difficult.  Living with an illness and having a child in the home is beyond words.  We as parents want to shield our children from pain, harm, and fear.  Medical emergencies makes this hard to do.
